Davis Mountains State Park

We checked into Davis Mountains State Park mid-afternoon and immediately took the Skyline Drive up to the overlook area. Melanie had some work to do and the ranger told me the overlook was one of the few places in the park where we could get connected. We had lunch at the overlook and enjoyed the spectacular views too.

While our stay in the park was brief, the park made a good spot to access the Star Party at McDonald Observatory.  When we got back to the camp ground at around 10:00 p.m. we got to see our first Javelinas. Three crossed in front of Miranda as we approached our campsite.
